Miss Chelsea Area and Miss Cahaba Valley pageants are open preliminaries to the Miss Alabama and Miss America Pageants.

The Miss America Organization is the largest non-profit provider of scholarships among young women. Over $45 million in cash and tuition scholarship assistance was made available this past year.

The Miss America Organization provides young women an opportunity to further their personal and professional goals and instill a spirit of community service through a variety of unique nationwide community based programs.

The dedicated young women who compete for the coveted Miss America title donate more than 500,000 hours each year to make Miss America one of the largest community servce organizations in the country.

Each year, tens of thousands of Miss America volunteers give over 500,000 hours of service to more than over 12,000 community-service projects. The national Miss America project is the Children's Miracle Network.

There is a marque sign in front of Lester's Chapel. The pageant will take place in the gym behind the Church at 7:00 pm.

Directions to Lester's Chapel United Methodist Church:

From Birmingham: take 280 South towards Auburn until you get to Chelsea (go over Double Oak Mountain). Take a right on County Road 47 (at the red light where McDonalds and Shell sit). Travel approximately 4 miles and the church will be on the left (it's a little white chuch in a big curve).

From Auburn: take 280 North towards Auburn until you get to Chelsea. Take a left on County Rd 47 (at the red light where McDonalds and Shell sit). Travel approximately 4 miles and the church will be on the left (it's a little white church in a big curve).

From 65: take exit 228 and head east on 16th Ave/Main St for approximately 11 miles. Turn left at Chelsea Rd and travel for approximately 7 miles. The church will be on your right (it's a little white chuch).

Tickets are $10.00 for ages 6 and up, $5.00 ages 5 and under.
